If you are looking for something spooky to watch this Sunday, here is a recommendation for you. The Scott brothers have impressed audiences over many decades now and both Ridley and Tony Scott have given us wonderful films on diverse subjects.
‘The Hunger’ by Tony Scott is an erotic horror movie that came out in 1983. The movie is now available to watch on rent from Amazon Prime Video. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by Whitley Strieber.
The movie tells the story of an ancient vampire Miriam who preys on the midnight club goers of New York. But her present companion, Jack, who was a cellist in Paris and has been turned into a vampire almost two centuries back with promises of eternal life and eternal youth is ageing fast now. And he realises Miriam’s promises were only half true. He seeks help from a doctor named Sarah Roberts who refuses to believe him. To know what happens next, you will have to watch the film. It is a wonderfully directed story and only one hour and thirty seven minutes long.
The cinematography is handled by Stephen Goldblatt and the music is given by composers Michel Rubini and Denny Jaeger. The performances are amazing and you are missing out on a beautiful film if you have not watched it yet.
