A24 Drops Brady Corbet’s ‘The Brutalist’ Trailer, Stars Adrien Brody

The first official trailer for Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist has been dropped by A24, starring Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones.

Alongside these talents, we see Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Stacy Martin, Alessandro Nivola, Isaach de Bankolé, Raffey Cassidy, Emma Laird, and more.

The trailer features Brody as László Tóth, a Holocaust survivor and architect. The Hungarian-born Jewish architect emigrates to the United States with his wife, Erzsébet Tóth (played by Jones), after the Second World War to pursue the ‘American Dream.’ However, his journey and survival are not easy, as he faces a series of struggles stemming from poverty and indignity. His life takes a dramatic turn when he secures a contract with a wealthy client, Harrison Lee Van Buren (Pearce).

The Brutalist is already a strong contender for the upcoming Academy Awards. The epic historical drama premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival, where it received critical acclaim. Currently, it holds a near-perfect 97% ‘fresh’ critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on over 65 certified reviews. Brody is one of the frontrunners for the Oscar for Best Actor. He previously won the award in the same category at the 75th Academy Awards for his sensational and heartbreaking performance in Roman Polanski’s The Pianist (2002), in which he portrayed Holocaust survivor and prominent Polish-Jewish pianist Wladyslaw Szpilman.

The Brutalist is over three hours long, and its latest trailer teases the movie’s extensive narrative and visual scope. Corbet shot the film with VistaVision, bringing out stunning visuals for the viewers. It will come out in theaters worldwide on December 20. Stay tuned for more updates. Here’s the trailer!
