John Krasinski isn’t done with Tom Clancy’s Ryanverse. Amazon MGM Studios plans to develop a new Jack Ryan movie, with Krasinski returning as the titular former U.S. Marine officer and CIA financial analyst.
Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly will star alongside Krasinski, reprising their roles as James Greer and Mike November, respectively. Pierce is best known for his work in projects like HBO’s The Wire, USA Network’s Suits, and HBO’s Confirmation. Meanwhile, Kelly has appeared in notable projects such as Netflix’s House of Cards, Paramount+’s Special Ops: Lioness, and the ongoing HBO series The Penguin, a spinoff of The Batman (2022), where he played Johnny Vitti, underboss of the Falcone family.
Andrew Bernstein, executive producer and director of Season 2 of the Amazon series, will direct the feature from a script by Aaron Rabin, co-executive producer and writer of Season 4 of the show.
Story details are not yet available, but the upcoming movie may focus on Ryan’s efforts to expose Senator Henshaw (Derek Cecil) and his connection to Zeyara’s (Zuleikha Robinson) operation, according to rumours. Alternatively, we could see the protagonist tackling an entirely new threat.
John Krasinski is also producing the forthcoming Jack Ryan movie through his Sunday Night production banner alongside Allyson Seeger. Andrew Form is another producer of the film. Skydance’s Dana Goldberg and David Ellison will serve as executive producers, along with Carlton Cuse and John Kelly. Paramount Pictures is also producing the film. The release date has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
