Black Bag Trailer: Cate Blanchett & Michael Fassbender Star As Spies

Veteran filmmaker Steven Soderbergh is set to kick off 2025 with a bang, beginning with the psychological thriller Presence, releasing on January 17. Following this Lucy Liu-starrer, the filmmaker will return to theatres with his upcoming spy thriller Black Bag, starring Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender. Speaking of Black Bag, its trailer is out now!

According to Focus Features, the film follows the story of renowned intelligence agent George Woodhouse (Fassbender) and his wife, Kathryn (Blanchett). When Kathryn is accused of treason, George faces a difficult choice between his loyalty to his wife and his duty to his country.

In addition to Blanchett and Fassbender, Black Bag features an impressive cast, including Regé-Jean Page, Naomie Harris, Marisa Abela, Tom Burke, and Pierce Brosnan. Soderbergh directed the film, with the screenplay written by David Koepp, best known for penning the director’s Kimi (2022), which starred Zoë Kravitz. Koepp also wrote the scripts for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth.

Black Bag is scheduled to hit theaters on March 14, 2025. Gregory Jacobs and Casey Silver co-produced the film under the Casey Silver Productions banner, with Focus Features handling domestic distribution and Universal managing global distribution.
