Blade Finds Place In Marvel Zombies After Being Shelved

It was very disappointing for many Marvel fans that Mahershala Ali’s Blade movie was scrapped. But we still have some sliver of hope of the character being a part of the MCU. Recently, the first look of Blade and Moon Knight in the Upcoming Marvel’s What If… spin-off project, aptly titled Marvel Zombies, surfaced on the internet. and the fans are going insane.

Fun fact: Marvel at one time owned the rights to the word “zombies.” It was one of the most beloved alternate realities in Marvel comics, comprised of the sentient zombies taking over the Marvel universe. Thus, it was obvious that someday we would get a version of the same carnage on our screens, which we will now soon witness.

Blade was last seen, or more like heard, in the post-credit scene of The Eternals. The character was set to appear in his solo movie in November 2025. However, the conflicts regarding the script caused delays, and thus Marvel finally shelved the project for the forseeable future. As for Moon Knight, the portrayal by Oscar Isaac was loved by many Marvel fans. It was released when the Disney+ era of Marvel was still in its infancy, and ever since, we have been asking for more.

The other characters set to appear in Marvel Zombies are Kamala Khan, Yelena Belova, Kate Bishop, Red Guardian, Shang Chi, Ikaris, Ghost, Hawkeye, Abominatio, and Death Dealer, alongside Okoye and Jimmy Woo.

Marvel Zombies is set to release in October 2025 on Disney+.
