Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson team up to find missing Santa Claus (played by J. K. Simmons) in the new trailer for ‘Red One’. In a new trailer released by Amazon MGM Studios, we see Johnson portraying Callum Drift, the North Pole’s Head of Security, who is forced to partner with tracker and bounty hunter Jack O’Malley (Evans) to find Santa. And yes, O’Malley is on Santa’s naughty list too!
We see Simmons’ Santa in a buffed-up avatar in the latest clip. It also features some guys working for Zoe (Lucy Liu). They kidnap O’Malley to save the abducted Santa. Apart from the duo of O’Malley and Drfit, we also see a talking polar bear working with them.
The rest of Red One’s cast includes talents like Kiernan Shipka, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, Wesley Kimmel, Bonnie Hunt, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Jenna Kanell.
Returning with Johnson is helmer Jake Kasdan, who has collaborated with the actor on two Jumanji movies (Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level). Led by Johnson, these movies also starred the likes of Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan.
Hiram Garcia wrote Red One’s story, whereas Chris Morgan worked on its screenplay. Amazon MGM Studios will handle its distribution in the US. On the other hand, Warner Bros will take care of its international distribution. On-set issues and multiple delays have already ballooned up the film’s budget to $250 million. It means the movie needs to perform exceptionally well at the box office. Stay tuned for more updates. Red One is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 15.
