Comic Accuracy Is The New Nostalgia Train For Marvel

Fantastic Four is Marvel’s next big bet, and now that we are in the era of proper comic accuracy, as it was seen with Wolverine’s suit in Deadpool and Wolverine or the daredevil suit in She Hulk, it was more than likely that Marvel will take this to the next step and go full retro futuristic with its comic accurate version of Fantastic Four and Galactus in the upcoming “First Steps.”.

The recent images of H.E.R.B.I.E., the robot residential to the Baster building, and a companion to the Fantastic Four have surface, and the accuracy is spot on, except for one small thing. The H.E.R.B.I.E. in the comic is always hovering, but the MCU version will have rollers. Perhaps we can have an advanced version of that one bot from Tony’s Lab from Iron Man. The design is actually very similar to that of the droids seen in the Star Wars universe, with a bit of Alpha 5 from Power Rangers.

The comic accuracy in recent comic book adaptations is a very intrinsic demand from the audience ever present since the initial movies started rolling in. Because of this, now we have studios finally giving in to the fan service. We finally have our outwards trunk superman and a yellow suit wolverine, and there is indeed more to come.

While the earlier movies tried to bind these fantastical characters in their realities, it is refreshing to see how the movies are now, in a sense, more faithful to the source material. On the other hand, it was always a fun thing to see the creators own takes on the “practical” designs, and while this is a trade-off in terms of aesthetics, fans do indeed love this change.

First Steps will be released on July 25 2025.
