Despite not performing well at the box office, Bart Layton’s crime thriller, Crime 101 (led by Chris Hemsworth), generated a noticeable buzz on social media. It received a highly positive reception from both critics and viewers during its theatrical run. And now, it’s all set to make its OTT debut in India.
Based on the gripping novella by Don Winslow, Crime 101 follows Davis (played by Chris Hemsworth), a master jewel thief with a very specific code. For years, he has carried out a string of high-profile robberies along the 101 freeway, leaving the police baffled by his meticulous “Crime 101” rules.
However, the stakes reach a breaking point when Davis plans the biggest heist of his career.
Davis soon finds himself caught in a tightening noose between two formidable forces: The law (represented by Detective Lou Lubesnick, played by Mark Ruffalo, a dogged investigator who refuses to believe the robberies are the work of a cartel and is determined to break the thief’s pattern) and The Wild Card (Sharon, portrayed by Halle Berry, a disillusioned insurance broker who finds herself drawn into the orbit of the crime, blurring the lines between the hunter and the hunted).
