Episode 5 of Agatha All Along unveils the mystery behind Joe Locke’s Teen. Agatha’s new and eccentric witch coven finds itself in an Ouija-themed trial set in a 1980s cabin. By using the Ouija board, they interact with a spirit, who turns out to be Evanora Harkness, Agatha’s mother. She warns the witches about Agatha and then possesses her. Alice tries to expel Agatha but is absorbed by her. Teen attempts to stop Agatha by calling out the name of another spirit, Nicholas Scratch, Agatha’s long-lost son. Agatha stops, but Alice dies.
Disillusioned, Teen rejects Agatha and the coven, disgusted by their disregard for life. Agatha mocks him, saying he is like his mother. In a fit of anger, Teen controls Lilia and Jen, forcing them to throw Agatha and themselves into a mud trap. As the witches sink underground, Teen acquires a magical headpiece similar to the one Wanda once wore.
Since the first episode of Agatha All Along, fans have been curious about Locke’s mysterious character. The sigil placed on his mouth prevented him from revealing important details about himself. During the final moments of Episode 5, we see Locke’s Teen wearing a blue crown, which closely resembles that of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. This indicates that Teen is actually Billy Kaplan.
Billy is the reincarnation of Wanda’s son in the comics, who later becomes Wiccan, one of the Young Avengers. Many fans theorized that Teen was Wiccan from the very first episode. Well, their theories have been proven correct.
Marvel did a poor job of keeping Teen’s true identity a secret in Agatha All Along. Many fans figured out who the character was well before it was officially revealed. This is reminiscent of when fans correctly guessed that Kathryn Hahn’s character in WandaVision was Agatha Harkness.
In the comics, Billy Kaplan is a bullied, gay teenager who discovers his magical powers after encountering the Scarlet Witch. Unbeknownst to him, he is the reincarnation of her son, one of the twins she magically created with her husband, Vision. The twins were later revealed to be illusions created by the demon Mephisto, who absorbed them back into himself.
The events of Episode 5 could position Billy as the protagonist of Agatha All Along, potentially making Agatha the show’s true antagonist. This plot twist would be intriguing and exciting to watch. Stay tuned for more updates, and stream Episode 5 on Disney+ Hotstar.
