The Man Without Fear has returned with a bang to the streets of Hell’s Kitchen. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 just dropped its first episode, and the internet is basically losing its mind. If you were worried about whether Marvel could keep that gritty, bone-crunching energy we fell in love with years ago, you can officially breathe.
Early reactions on social media about the first episode are mostly positive. And everyone’s talking about Matt Murdock’s new black and red Daredevil suit (carrying that classic “DD” logo), which looks quite good on Charlie Cox.
The fight choreography has received acclaim from viewers and critics. Season 2 feels less like a standard superhero show and more like a high-stakes crime thriller that isn’t afraid to get its hands dirty.
Speaking of Fisk, the political drama is actually juicy this time around. With Kingpin running the city as Mayor and his “Anti-Vigilante Task Force” patrolling the streets, the tension is through the roof. But it’s not all grim and moody!
According to reports, Karen (played by Deborah Ann Woll) arrives as well, and she seems to have more screentime this time compared to the previous season.
Plus, Matthew Lillard has joined the cast as a CIA operative named Mr. Charles, and his back-and-forth with D’Onofrio’s Kingpin is the kind of TV gold we live for.
Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again currently stands with a “fresh” 91% critic score and an outstanding 98% audience score, showcasing a great start.
While some critics say the cast is getting a bit crowded, most agree that the show finally feels cohesive and energised. It’s stylish, it’s sharp, and it feels like the definitive version of Daredevil we’ve been waiting for. Marvel definitely understood the assignment with this one!
