Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga had its release in May of this year, and then a month later we had a digital release. Initially, the movie grossed around 172.8 million worldwide, which was quite low. The movie needed $350 million to make a profit. Thus, the movie was a massive commercial failure. And therefore it makes sense that any streaming service will try its very best to make something out of the huge pile of nothing it has on its hands with a movie like Furiosa.
The movie is now available to stream on JioCinema after its initial release on Max. However, the number of dubs that Furiosa boasts is impressive as well as quite peculiar at the same time. The movie is available in Standard English and Hindi; however, added on to the fray is Kannada, Telugu Bengali, and Marathi as well.
Now there are obvious upsides to it. The more people it includes, the more people watch it. That’s quite easy math for anyone to figure out, but that’s where the problem comes up.
This could be a rather futile attempt. As pushing this movie now is basically pushing a dead horse to the lake to have a drink. It is exhausting, and the horse will in all senses fall into the water. The movie already has a reputation for being a mediocre watch, and making it available for everyone requires investment. Something Furiosa couldn’t return in the past.
However, considering the Indian population and its love for theater. The move just might work, as the dubs have specifically moved out of the Hindi belt in order to tap the other corners of the country as well.
