Gen V Set To Carry The Boys Legacy Forward After Season 5

A major update regarding the future of The Boys universe has fans buzzing. While the flagship series is confirmed to end with its upcoming fifth season, a key cast member has just dropped a massive hint about what’s next for the breakout spinoff, Gen V.

Actor Laz Alonso (who plays Mother’s Milk) seemingly revealed the fate of Gen V Season 3 during a panel at Emerald City Comic Con 2026.

While Prime Video has yet to make a formal announcement, Alonso’s comments suggest that the supe-filled collegiate drama isn’t going anywhere. Speaking alongside co-star Karl Urban, Alonso noted:

“You got Gen V and then Vought Rising, which are the two shows that are gonna probably continue the legacy as we finish our chapter in storytelling.”

This slip is the strongest indication yet that Gen V has been, or will be, renewed for a third season, positioning it as a primary pillar of the franchise alongside the 1950s-set prequel, Vought Rising.

The news comes at a critical time for the franchise. The Boys Season 5 is scheduled to premiere on April 8, 2026, and the trailer has already teased a high-stakes “Endgame” where Homelander occupies the Oval Office, and the stakes are higher than ever.

For months, fans have speculated whether Gen V was merely a bridge to the main show’s finale or a standalone story capable of outliving its parent series. Alonso’s comments suggest the latter. If Gen V continues into a third season, it implies that the fallout of The Boys Season 5 will fundamentally reshape the world for Marie Moreau and her friends at Godolkin University.

As we head toward the explosive final chapter of the main series this April, it’s becoming clear that while the story of Butcher and Homelander may be ending, the world of Vought is just getting started. Stay tuned for more updates.
