Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40,000 Series Moves Forward At Amazon

Is it true? Is it really true? Yes, it is! After waiting for two long years, Amazon has finally started developing the highly anticipated live-action Warhammer 40,000 series, with Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill set to star and produce. This series is part of a deal finalised between Amazon Studios and Games Workshop.

Warhammer 40,000 is one of the most recognised and celebrated entries in Games Workshop’s arsenal, enjoying significant prominence in the United Kingdom. It is a miniature wargame where players enact battles using miniature models of fighting vehicles and warriors.

The game takes place in a futuristic setting where humanity faces extinction from a multitude of threats, including monstrous aliens and terrifying supernatural beings. The game features a diverse cast of miniatures, from genetically enhanced soldiers to demonic warlords, each armed with futuristic weaponry or arcane powers.

An official synopsis and the stories set to be told in the series will be finalized soon. “It might have taken a year, but it was a year well spent!” a representative from Games Workshop said. “And what fun—sifting through the enormity of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, debating characters, story arcs, and the thematic grit that underpins it all.”

According to Deadline, a mini-room hosted by Amazon and Games Workshop was recently assembled to provide creative direction and make key production decisions. However, the series has yet to secure a showrunner or announce a release window. Stay tuned for more updates.
