While 2024 was rather easy on the number of highly anticipated movies, 2025 and 2026 are being eyed as one of the biggest years for Hollywood. The number of movies from big directors and studios is already skyrocketing.
If we consider the case of comic book movies, both Marvel and DC are planning a massive comeback in 2025. While DC aims to erase its rebirth with Spider-Man Legacy, Marvel has a barrage of movies waiting to release in the next two years. Thunderbolts*, Captain America: Brave New World will spearhead 2025 for MCU, with everything culminating in Avengers Doomsday in 2026.
More franchises are making a comeback: Toy Story 5, Zootopia 2, Frozen 3, Spiderman Beyond the Spiderverse, Saw XI, John Wick, Spin Off Ballerina, and Friday Nights at Freddy’s will find their release dates in 2025 and 2026.
The directors too are claiming their spots in 2025 and 2026, with Steven Spielberg, Bong Joon Ho Jordan Peele, Denis Villeneuve, and Christopher Nolan are all having their movies waiting for release in the next two years.
To say the least, the next two years will see the cinephiles having the best times of their lives. Thus, a lot of traffic is to be expected around the theaters and the streaming services. Some are expecting a 5 billion + revenue from 2026 alone. Many are disappointed by the predominance of sequels and a lack of originals in the lineup. Nevertheless, the movies will be a definite positive for the studios who will see the money stack up and the fans who will be flocking in the theaters to enjoy this massive lineup.
