One of the most iconic pairings of Hollywood, Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz are once again coming together for the first time since their time on screen together while working on the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. This will be Johnny’s return to Hollywood after the whole Amber Heard drama. It’s not like the star was not doing movies. In fact, his indie release Modi has gained a lot of acclaim, which he himself directed.
This project, though, will be headed by director Mark Webb, whom you may know from the amazing Spider-Man movies starring Andrew Garfield. The movie is being described as an action movie. The central character will be a bartender on a cruise ship who meets a “daydrinker,” which leads them into a convoluted mess of the underworld.
It is nice to see Depp return to commercial cinema; the movie is being marketed as a very fast-paced action thriller. The studio behind its conception, Lionsgate, has brought in all the perfect talents required for the making of a good action flick.
This will be the fourth time the two fan favourites are coming together for the fick. A lot of details are still under wraps. Which will take surface as the production begins.
