Joker 2, Harley Quinn Carves A Smile Mona Lisa

Lady Gaga Vandalizing Mona Lisa was something that no one was ready for. The popstar-turned-actress has just released her new surprise track in anticipation of her new movie “Joker: Folie A Deux.” The song is aptly titled “The Joker” and showcases Gaga in her full Harley Quinn glory, strutting in the hallways of Louvre Paris.

Despite actively running away from the tag of a musical, Todd Philips” “Joker Folie A Deux” has clearly all the elements for it to be one. The movie will showcase Arthur Fleck, now living his life in the Arkham Asylum, trying to coexist with his alter ego, “The Joker.” Arthur finds himself in a courtroom, where he is being tried for his crimes. Later on, he comes across Harleen Lee Quinzel. And thus a romance blooms.

The music in the movie is a necessary addition to tie the characters together and the duo itself to the fantasy they escape into. And it would have been truly unjust to have Lady Gaga in the movie and to not let her sing. The song certainly reminds us of her work in “A Star Is Born.” And thus, it was natural that she would release an original track.

And here it is. In the video, Gaga is going around the Louvre, glancing at the artifacts. While singing “There’s always a funny man in the game/ but he is only funny by mistake,” alluding to Arthur’s problems of laughing at the wrong times. Summarizing the character arc, she sings “The joker is me,” leading to the shot in which she carves a smile on Monalisa with her lipstick. Joker: Folie A Deux is set to release on October 4.
