Jeff Goldblum’s KAOS has been struck by Zeus’s thunderbolt! Guys, stop waiting for Season 2, as Netflix has cancelled Charlie Covell’s mythological black comedy series.
Netflix has not yet disclosed the reason for cancelling KAOS, but many sources have indicated that the low viewership for Season 1 was a primary factor. This Jeff Goldblum starrer joins eight other shows that have been cancelled this year by the streamer. It premiered on August 29.
The series remained on Netflix’s Top 10 chart for four weeks but failed to attract a large number of viewers. It reached its highest position at number three on the English-language TV chart during its second week of release, with a peak viewership of only 5.9 million.
KAOS follows the almighty Zeus (Goldblum), who shackled his fellow god Prometheus to a cliffside and tortured him for interfering with his autocratic rule. After many years of waiting, Prometheus sets his plan in motion to overthrow Zeus, aided by a prophecy and the unsuspecting involvement of three mortals: Eurydice, Caeneus, and Ariadne.
Apart from Goldblum, KAOS has talents such as Janet McTeer (Hera), Aurora Perrineau (Eurydice), Cliff Curtis (Poseidon), David Thewlis (Hades), Rakie Ayola (Persephone), Killiann Scott (Orpheus), Stephen Dillane (Prometheus), and more. Stream Season 1 on Netflix. Stay tuned for more updates.
