Black Panther 3 is officially moving forward at Marvel Studios, according to Deadline. The project’s confirmation was accidentally revealed by veteran actor Denzel Washington, who recently disclosed that he had a role in the highly anticipated threequel while promoting Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II.
Deadline also reports that long-time Marvel Studios executive Nate Moore will part ways with the production house following the release of Captain America: Brave New World in February 2025. Executives Louis D’Esposito and Kevin Feige have congratulated Moore on his contributions to the studio and wished him luck in his future endeavours.
“Nate is a fantastic executive and colleague as well as a wonderful friend to all of us here at Marvel Studios.” “He has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling. Although we’ll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie.”
This means that Moore might not serve as one of the executive producers for Black Panther 3, but he will remain attached to the project in some capacity. Moore has been an executive producer for Marvel since 2010.
Black Panther 3 will follow the events of Wakanda Forever, which showed Shuri taking on the mantle of Wakanda’s iconic protector from T’Challa, previously played by the late Chadwick Boseman. The 2022 film was not only received overwhelmingly positively by critics, but it also emerged as a financial success, grossing over $859 million globally.
Marvel is currently working on several notable upcoming projects, including Spider-Man 4, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars. This suggests that Black Panther 3 could arrive in 2027 or 2028, possibly serving as a follow-up to the events of Secret Wars.
Washington’s involvement confirms that Marvel has a fully developed story for Black Panther 3. However, it remains to be seen when the film will arrive in theatres. Stay tuned for more updates.
