Marvel Shelves Blade Adding Three Mystery Projects Instead

The blade is finally scrapped for the time being. After so much back and forth between Mahershala Ali and the studio, the movie has been finally taken down from the Marvel movie slate. While the movie had a release date of November 2025, it was impossible for the movie to be made in such a short time. Before Beau DeMayo was fired from Marvel, he had prepared a script, but it was in fact Mahershala Ali who didn’t feel the story was good enough, and thus, Blade in the MCU is a far-off dream for now.

The character was last heard of in the post-credit scene of Eternals, setting up a midnight sun movie. However, the scripting issues kept it from ever coming to reality. And yes, while you won’t see the movie anytime soon, Mahershala Ali will make an appearance in the Animated Marvel Zombies.

Clearly all of this has made the joke about Wesley snipes being the only blade truer than ever before. Rumor is that Marvel might just move in the direction of giving Wesley Snipes’ Blade its own Logan Style sendoff as a Marvel Studio Blade movie, as Ryan Reynolds proposed.

As of now, the removal of the blade has made way to three untitled projects. What these projects might be is still under speculation. There is still a chance that the studio might look into Blade post Secret Wars. However, Mahershala Ali’s blade seems to have been shelved for the forseeable future.
