DC finally settled on the role of legendary Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, with Kyle Chandler. But the role of John Stewart is yet to be discussed. As of now, the buzz around the town says that rebel Ridge star, Arron Pierre, is one of the forerunners for the role. Along with Pierre, the other name that might just be the face of the Lantern Corps is Stephan James. James is well known for his work in The Piano Lesson.
As of now, the studio has maintained its silence on either the names, but the prospect looks promising. Ever since the news of Josh Brolin and other veterans being eyed for the role of Hal Jordan, it was being speculated that the other Green Lantern would be the face of the franchise going forward. And for that, you need fresh talents, which can be the said face for a multi-decade adventure.
Both of these actors are already fan favorites and are still quite young. To be honest, it will also serve the premise of the show, which is being speculated to be the passing of a torch (or lantern) from a veteran to a rookie. And since Kyle Chandler is an Emmy Award winner, it will be the same dynamic for either Pierre or James with Chandler.
As of now, Lanterns is the most-eyed DCU project after Superman: Legacy, as it has already established a “true detective-esque” drama vibe. Lanterns will probably be available in 2026, given that the casting rumors are cleared soon enough.
