Sophie Rundle, Stephen Graham, & More Return For Peaky Blinders Movie

Netflix’s upcoming Peaky Blinders movie is actively developing its cast. In addition to Cillian Murphy, the film will feature Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, and Rebecca Ferguson, along with talents from the original series, including Sophie Rundle (Ada Thorne, née Shelby), Ned Dennehy (Charlie Strong), Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs), and Ian Peck (Curly). Stephen Graham will also reprise his role as Hayden Stagg, the union leader of the Liverpool dock workers from the original series’ final season.

Dennehy’s Charlie Strong was one of Tommy Shelby’s closest allies, while Rundle’s Ada was Tommy’s sister. Peck’s Curly was Charlie’s assistant, and Lee’s Johnny Dogs was one of Tommy’s friends.

Murphy’s first look as Tommy Shelby in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie was revealed last week, and filming has commenced. However, little is known about the movie’s plot, except that it is set during World War II. The original series was set in Birmingham between 1919 and 1934, chronicling the rise and fall of the notorious Shelby family as they navigated a world shaped by political, social, and economic changes during that period.

Series creator Steven Knight has written the movie’s script, with Tom Harper directing. Harper also helmed several episodes of the first season.

The highly acclaimed six-season BBC series concluded in April 2022, but it did not mark the end of Tommy’s story.

Knight also serves as one of the producers for the Peaky Blinders movie, alongside Guy Heeley, Cillian Murphy, and Patrick Holland. Meanwhile, Harper is one of the film’s executive producers. Stay tuned for more updates.
