Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 will be vastly different from previous installments, according to prominent insider Jeff Sneider. Serving as a highly anticipated follow-up to the 2021 box office juggernaut Spider-Man: No Way Home, the fourth installment is set to begin filming in the summer of 2025.
A new report from Sneider reveals that Spider-Man 4 is shaping up to be a highly ambitious project for both Sony and the MCU. According to Sneider, Zendaya will reportedly have a minor role in the upcoming Spidey film, with more focus placed on the relationship between Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Holland’s Peter Parker. Additionally, symbiotes are expected to become an official part of the MCU.
Fans have been clamouring to see the iconic duo of Daredevil and Spider-Man share the big screen for quite some time. Given the immeasurable love fans have for these two superheroes, the duo may finally team up in Spider-Man 4.
As for symbiotes, most of us have likely watched Venom 3 and are familiar with how the latest Tom Hardy starrer concluded. In the film, Venom sacrifices himself to save Eddie and the Earth from Knull’s lethal Xenophages, forcing Eddie to start a new, uneventful, and peaceful life. However, symbiotes are not completely destroyed. Eddie unknowingly leaves traces of Venom’s symbiote in various places, including the Mexican bar featured in the threequel’s opening moments. Additionally, Venom left a piece of himself during his time on Earth-616. Hardy could potentially merge with Venom once again to face Spider-Man in the upcoming Spider-Man 4.
Moreover, talks of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Mephisto appearing in Spider-Man 4 have gained significant attention. However, Marvel has yet to confirm this news. What we do know is that Daredevil will definitely appear in the movie. Additionally, we will see Peter Parker forming new friendships and exploring his college life.
Given that MJ doesn’t remember Peter Parker after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s understandable why Zendaya’s role might be smaller in Spider-Man 4. This paves the way for new supporting characters, potentially including familiar faces like Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn, whom Peter encountered during his college years in the comics. Stay tuned for more updates.
