Although the platform offers a plethora of thrillers to view, Netflix has opened the door for a brand-new suspense documentary that centers on one of the greatest Catfishes in history.
The story of Kirat Assi, a London-based woman who became close to Bobby, a man she met on Facebook, and their sad connection is told in Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare. The narrative is based on the same-titled podcast from 2021. The problem was that whenever they tried to get together in person, something would always come up.
The documentary shows viewers several pictures and audio of Assi and the catfisher Bobby talking. It explains the story of our online personas and how social media can be a tool for coercion and harm.
As suspenseful as it sounds, viewers were instantly attracted to the plot. The series was released recently and the reviews are kinda mixed for this one.
Some have stated how compelling the series was while others have talked about how imaginary scenes have damaged the authenticity of the incident.
It is too early to judge the series based on limited reviews, however, given the amount of appraisal it got during its trailer, the series might have a positive impact on the audience.
Only time will tell how it will ultimately turn out to be and how well it is received by the viewers. If you wanna watch a real-life horror incident involving a fake personality and an online relationship, you can watch the series right now on Netflix.
