When last saw Ella Purnell, she was the happy-go-lucky Lucy in Fallout, and to say the least, the actress has showcased her insane versatility with her latest performance. This has been a complete 180 from her last role. Sweetpea showcases Ella in a story that allows her to bring out her insane potential as an artist.
Being a serial killer drama, Sweetpea is a story that revolves around Ella’s character, Rhiannon. a girl who has nothing going up for her. The love life is ruined. family on stilts. Work- barely tolerable. All of this pushes Ella to the point that she even prepares a hit list; however, when the people start getting crossed out, the drama unflods.
The plot is addictive, as per the audience reaction. The series has received a perfect score on rotten tomatoes. The ploat makes you root for the killer. Essentialy bonding you to the suffering of the culprit. The grisly murders do not just carry shock value; they support the story and propel it forward. Making it a compelling watch.
