The Sandman looks to knock it out of the park with Season 2, and then some. Thanks to Netflix’s Geeked Week 2024, we now have the first look BTS clip for The Sandman Season 2, disclosing a raft of new characters coming on board for the sophomore entry.
Based on the prominent comic book series by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg, The Sandman Season 1 focused on Morpheus (one of the seven Endless and the personification of dreams) and his attempt to restore his realm, Dreaming, after being held captive for over a century.
The rest of the Endless are played by new joinees: Adrian Lester (Destiny), Esme Creed-Miles (Delirium), and The Prodigal (Barry Sloane). Moreover, the second season is expected to cover the Season of Mists arc from the comics.
The new BTS clip also offers conversations with showrunner Allan Heinberg and the leading man, Tom Sturridge. Their comments indicate that Season 2 will focus on Morpheus’ attempts to continue rebuilding his realm and accept the consequences of his actions in the first season.
Moreover, popular Norse deities such as Thor (Laurence O’Fuarain), Loki (Freddie Fox), Odin (Clive Russell), and many more will appear in Season 2. Furthermore, the upcoming season will have a scene featuring all the siblings of The Endless together in one room.
