This Amazing Nordic Crime Thriller Is Netflix India’s #1

No promotion, no posts, nothing! And yet, Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole (while it took some time) became the #1 series on Netflix India (as per FlixPatrol – April 1, 2026). But we shouldn’t be surprised.

Ever since the show dropped on March 26, 2026, it’s been the only thing everyone has been talking about on social media. The reviews have been extremely positive: 7.9 on IMDb and 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.

If you haven’t started it yet, here is why you need to cancel your weekend plans and start binging.

Detective Hole brings to life one of the coolest (and most messed-up) detectives in book history: Harry Hole. Unlike those perfect heroes who always have it together, Harry is a total wreck. He’s got a massive drinking problem, he’s always in trouble with his bosses, but he’s a literal genius when it comes to catching killers.

The first season is based on the fan-favourite book The Devil’s Star. It’s got everything you want in a thriller: a creepy serial killer, an alpha-male rivalry between two cops to prove who’s better, Joel Kinnaman’s outstanding performance as Tom Waaler, Tobias Santelmann’s hard-hitting performance as the troubled but skilled protagonist, and plenty of shocking twists.

Whether it’s the dark mood of the show or the “cat-and-mouse” game between Harry and the killer, the new Netflix series feels intense and gripping. Plus, it seriously benefits from amazing production quality.

Is Detective Hole on Netflix worth a watch?

Absolutely! If you’re tired of the same old predictable plots, Detective Hole on Netflix will keep you guessing until the very last second. It’s dark, it’s fast-paced, and it doesn’t treat the audience like they’re bored. Stay tuned for more updates.
