Tulsa King: Sylvester Stallone Hints At An Exciting Future After Season 2

Amidst the ongoing Season 2, Tulsa King’s leading man, Sylvester Stallone, has confirmed that Season 3 has entered the developmental stage. It means we are certainly not witnessing the end of Dwight Manfredi in the second season.

No one really understands why it took Stallone so long to venture into the gangster crime genre with Tulsa King. Considering the talent the Rocky star has, he could have easily been ranked alongside greats like Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, and others if he had tackled mob crime films earlier in his career.

Season 1 turned out to be an impressive streaming success for Paramount+, earning a 79% ‘fresh’ critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 2 turned out even better than the debut season, proven by its 100% RT score. Moreover, the second season’s opening episodes reached over 5.4 million households in their first week of release. These stats show the rising prominence of this Taylor Sheridan creation.

Season 1 saw Stallone’s character, Dwight Manfredi, emerge as a laid-back yet menacing mob lieutenant. With a mix of charisma and cold-blooded ruthlessness, his rapid ascension to the helm of Tulsa’s underworld seemed almost inevitable. Stallone deliberately played against type, portraying Dwight as a seemingly harmless “gatherer,” a man who draws people in with his magnetic persona.

Season 2 takes off slowly, but quickly turns into a funny and violent rollercoaster ride, benefitting immensely from the antagonists’ performances.
