A surprising villain from Iron Man (2008) will appear in the Vision Quest Disney+ series. The show will explore the events following WandaVision, which featured Paul Bettany as Vision alongside Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch.
According to Deadline, Faran Tahir will reprise his role as Raza, the leader of the Ten Rings terrorist organisation, in Vision Quest. In the first Iron Man movie, Raza held Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) captive in a cave as part of his deal with Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges). Since then, the character has not appeared in any other MCU project.
Apart from Iron Man (2008), Tahir is best known for his roles in notable projects such as The Jungle Book (1994), Star Trek (2009), and ABC’s hit show Scandal.
Raza’s inclusion in Vision Quest confirms that the Ten Rings organisation will have a much larger role to play in the show. Tony Leung’s Wenwu referenced striking deals with Raza in a deleted flashback scene from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This suggests that Vision Quest will not only serve as a follow-up to WandaVision and Agatha All Along but could also set the stage for Shang-Chi 2. The Ten Rings might have a more significant presence in future MCU projects.
The addition of Tahir’s Raza is intriguing, especially since the series already features James Spader’s Ultron. It will be interesting to see which of these formidable characters emerges as the show’s main antagonist. It seems more likely that Ultron will serve as the primary villain, while Raza could take on a supporting role, potentially laying the groundwork for Shang-Chi 2.
Raza isn’t the only long-forgotten MCU character making a comeback. Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader is also set to appear in Captain America: Brave New World, marking his return after The Incredible Hulk (2008).
Vision Quest is slated to premiere on Disney+ in 2026. Stay tuned for more updates!
