The show tells the story of a woman named Alex who is a single mother. She has come out of an abusive relationship and has turned to house cleaning to keep earning her bread. She has a daughter named Maddy who she loves too much and leaves no stone unturned to have a better life for her.
The show has been inspired by ‘Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive’ a memoir by Stephanie Land. ‘Maid’ is created by Molly Smith Metzler and premiered on Netflix in October 2021. It is a complete story and does not need a follow up season for you to get the whole plot. If you are into miniseries, you should definitely try this out.
There are some wonderful performances by actors like Margaret Qualley, Nick Robinson, Anika Noni Rose, Tracy Vilar, Billy Burke, Andie MacDowell and more. The music of the series is given by Chris Stracey and Este Haim. The cinematography is handled by Quyen Tran, Guy Godfree, Vincent De Paula and they have contributed in the beautiful visuals for the show.
