Why Jeremy Allen White Will Shine As Jabba’s Son In The Mandalorian & Grogu

Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined The Bear star Jeremy Allen White becoming a part of the Star Wars universe, let alone playing Jabba the Hutt’s son. Believe it or not, the Emmy-winning actor will be seen portraying Rotta the Hutt in the upcoming Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian & Grogu, according to Variety.

Plot details about the upcoming Star Wars feature have been locked in a highly advanced sealed vault by Lucasfilm, leaving no trace of it online. However, the addition of Rotta the Hutt to the movie teases what fans can expect from the next adventure between the father-son duo of Din Djarin and Grogu.

White’s addition to the film is genuinely surprising, but a welcome one too! While The Bear star is primarily known for his dramatic performances, his vocal talents and ability to embody complex characters make him a potentially perfect fit for the voice of a Hutt.

Rotta made his Star Wars debut in The Clone Wars (2008) movie. He later appeared in an episode of the highly acclaimed and globally popular animated series of the same name. The character has been portrayed as a spoiled and arrogant young Hutt, but White’s addition and acting talents could bestow more depth and nuance to this iconic character.

White’s inclusion as Rotta the Hutt raises many exciting questions about The Mandalorian & Grogu. Will fans witness the character in a stronger and more impactful role than in his previous appearances in the Star Wars franchise? Will we see a more comprehensive exploration of the criminal Hutt syndicate in the movie? How will he interact with Din Djarin and Grogu? Rotta could hire the duo, or they may encounter Jabba’s son during an adventurous mission. Who knows?

But one thing’s for sure: Jeremy Allen White’s addition to The Mandalorian & Grogu will mean a lot to many Star Wars fans. Alongside White, the film stars Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver. It is scheduled for theatrical release on May 22, 2026. Stay tuned for more updates.
