Denis Villeneuve adaptation of “Dune” written by Frank Herbert left an indelible mark on the audience, the desert planet has risen up once again,with the creation of “The Prophecy”.
HBO Max took up the huge responsibility to establish from where and how all the prophecies and constant fight for power came from.
It is none other than the Bene Gesserits, and “Dune Prophecy” is here to deliver you exactly that.
But will it deliver what it is here to deliver?
The story of “Dune Prophecy” is taken from the book written by Brian Herber, “Sisterhood Of Dune”, in the same universe created by Frank Herbert.
The action in the series taking place some 10,000 years before the events of the film, so there is no co relation between between events that took place in “Dune” other than Lady Jessica and her past.
From the trailer we got the glimps of how the first reverend mother who is establishing the school for Bene Gesserit, collecting woman from many world, to fight against the Imperium and the great houses, because according to the Reverend Mother, they are fragile.
Now, we have to understand the the whole “Dune” saga is not only a simple Sci fi it has a very huge political background to it.
And this series will show you how Bene Gesserits are the main source of power, and two main brave woman Valya and Tula Harkonnen, who fought for the power.
In the book, Raquella Berto-Anirul, survived a poisoning that provided her with the memories and mental presences of her female ancestors, which leads to the Sisterhood, it is the same kind of poisoning and transformation we saw in Jessica’s case.
And in the end of the trailer we see lots of woman using “The Voice”.
The whole “Dune” movie was surrounded by the power of Bene Gesserits, more noticeably in “Dune Part 2” so, the Prophecy that the movie carried for so long, leaving the audience in wonder, like from where all these powers came?
All the questions will be answered on November 17, on HBO Max with “Dune Prophecy”.
So will “Dune Prophecy” deliver what it is promising us?
