The COVID era was a win-win situation for OTT platforms, and no doubt, the biggest winner during that period was Suits. A small-budget series turned into an outright success.
Now, the spotlight is shifting to its sister show, Suits LA, which focuses on the West Coast of the United States.
Stephen Amell takes the lead, and DC’s Arrow star brings some much-needed star power to the show. However, the overall presentation of the LA version appears a bit too flashy.
Why did Suits gain so much popularity?
It offered something fans had never seen before—a legal drama that primarily unfolded in the courtroom and the office. But as the new series teases fans with glimpses of what to expect, it seems to lack the depth that made the original so compelling.
That said, most faces in the cast are relatively fresh, and fans are likely to appreciate this new direction. They could also capitalize on Gabriel Macht’s character, which would be an effective way to draw fans of Suits to Suits LA.
Will the formula work?
We’ll have to wait until February 26 to find out. For now, the trailer looks promising, though it might not fully deliver what the fans are hoping for.
