Eroticism Once Again Takes Over Netflix Charts With ‘Deceitful Love’

A couple of years ago when the ‘365 Days’ film series or shows like ‘Sex/Life’, ‘Obsession’, ‘Fatal Seduction’ and more came out on Netflix, they attracted quite the attention, obviously due to their erotic theme.

Once again, the erotic fever is high on Netflix as Italian soap drama ‘Deceitful Love’ is taking over the global Top 10 charts. Despite getting really bad reviews the show is still trending in over 89 countries around the world.

An Italian adaptation of British miniseries ‘Gold Digger’, ‘Deceitful Love’ follows a 60 year old woman who falls in love with a mysterious young man. While the original dealt with some complex themes of domestic violence and trauma, this adaptation seems to lack the same.

These shows and movies often don’t have a decent storyline and still manage to get strong viewership numbers. It cannot be denied that at times they are technically just soft porn and whether people admit it or not, it is often a guilty pleasure for many.

But is eroticism enough? Well it certainly is if you are looking to rake in numbers. With more and more people watching and talking about it, such content is bound to get traction and show up on your feed. And then begins the vicious cycle where more and more people watch it and trash it online and this continues till the steam blows off and it eventually cools down.
