Tasveer Film Market, a Seattle based Asia focused market just took place and had some interesting projects to offer. Two such projects were picked up by Fawad Khan, the charming Pakistani superstar, and one by Guneet Monga, the Academy Award winning producer.
As for Fawad he will star in ‘Behind The Scenes’, a newsroom based dark comedy thriller developed by Modoxy Media and Film Lab++. The show is jointly made by filmmakers Mehreen Jabbar (‘Jackson Heights’), Sarmad Khoosat (‘Joyland’), and Mo Naqvi (‘Insha’Allah Democracy’).
The other project that Fawad Khan will feature in is a crime thriller series ‘The Prisoner’ by Apoorv Bakshi and Monisha Thyagarajan led Awadecious Originals. Set in the 90s Pakistan, he will be playing a cop in the show, who along with one other policeman, will embark ok a covert mission to topple Karachi’s powerful mafia-like political party. The show is created by Parisa Siddiqi and Ahmer Khan and is based on Omar Shahid’s bestseller book.
On the other hand we have one of India’s most popular filmmaker these days Guneet Monga, who has joined veteran director Jahnu Barua’s India-Australia co-production ‘Whistle in the Wind’ as project mentor.
