K drama is a phenomenon. Once you goin, theres no going back, which explains such huge numbers K drama garner. Netflix’s chartbuster Queen of Tears has become the most watched K drama series on the streaming platform.
The series debuted on Netflix on March 9 and continued to air till the 28th of April. And soon, it overtook the hearts of millions. The biannual report for the first half of 2024 is in, and the series has touched the 689.5 million streams mark. There is a lot of Korean content on the platform. These include My Demon, True Beauty, and Doctor Slump. But none of them come even remotely close to the queen of tears.
On the overall watch list ranking of Netflix, Queen of Tears has secured a very respectable rank of 14. Which is actually quite impressive. The series revolves around a married couple, Baek Hyun and Hong Hae, the latter of whom is the heiress of a multimillionaire company. And her husband being the legal director.
The challenges faced by them make it a rather interesting show. It showcases a very sweet and savory chemistry between the two leads. This is obvious, given the numbers the series has garnered. This is certainly an achievement for the Korean drama industry.
