Well, Squid Game Season 2 is doing what is precisely what it is supposed to do. “Squid Game” Season 2 is smashing records and grabbing millions of viewers worldwide.
The season debuted with a bang, earning 68 million views in just four days. This made it Netflix’s biggest TV launch ever. In its first full week, it added another 58.2 million views, bringing the total to an impressive 126.2 million views in 11 days. No other Netflix show has ever reached such numbers so quickly. This is just wild.
The show has already climbed Netflix’s list of most popular non-English-language series. It started at No. 7 last week and has now jumped to No. 2. The only series ahead of it is “Squid Game” Season 1, which had 265.2 million views in 91 days. However, with 80 more days left to count views, Season 2 will most certainly break that record too.
Unsurprisingly, “Squid Game” Season 2 was the most-watched show on Netflix from December 30 to January 5. Even the first season saw a rise in popularity, gathering 13.6 million views during the same week and ranking as the No. 2 English-language series.
If the news of Squid Game Season 3 arriving on June 27 is correct then Netflix clearly has another hit on its hands.
