Mahavatar Narsimha: Epic Film Butchered by Netflix?

Mahavatar Narsimha is now streaming on Netflix India. While viewers’ reception toward this Hombale animated blockbuster has been highly positive, what was supposed to be a celebration for fans has turned into a slightly sour viewing experience.

According to some viewers, the joy of watching Mahavatar Narsimha is being interrupted by the movie’s aspect ratio on Netflix. Many key scenes and frames are suffering from bizarre distortion. The images appear either stretched or, more commonly, cropped, resulting in a jarring visual experience.

Moreover, the upper and lower portions of many scenes are inexplicably missing. We are left watching a divine epic with a frustrating sense of incompleteness, as if a beautiful painting has been awkwardly trimmed to fit the wrong-sized frame.

Considering the hype it has built since its theatrical release, Mahavatar Narsimha deserves a better OTT experience. It deserves to be seen as its creators intended, with every detail of its art direction and cinematography intact. The current version, with its distorted visuals, does a disservice to the immense effort that went into bringing this epic to life.

The problem is purely technical and, most importantly, fixable. The solution doesn’t require a major overhaul or a reshoot; Netflix simply needs to re-upload the movie with the correct aspect ratio.

A quick fix to the aspect ratio issue will not only enhance the viewing experience for thousands of current fans but also ensure that new audiences can fully appreciate this animated blockbuster without distraction. Stay tuned for more updates.
