Can This Fresh Take on ‘Anwar’ Make a Splash at the Box Office?

The much-anticipated re-release version of the Malayalam movie is all on big screens and is having an expected audience intake. What are the new facets of this attempt? How satisfied is the audience?

‘Anwar’ is an action thriller film that has been bankrolled by Raj Zacharias for Red Carpet Entertainment Productions and the screenplay as well as dialogues are penned by Unni R and the director himself. The movie talked about terrorism and misconceptions regarding the generalization of specific communities, and dealing with such a sensitive issue.

Can the movie’s bilingual releases in Malayalam and Tamil be able to pull a mass audience?

The storyline has a character-driven narrative and even though the making and breaking of the conventionality were much of a discussion among the audience during its release, commercially the effort couldn’t do well despite having a cult following its post-theatrical shows. Also, the film’s plot elements were inspired by the 2008 American film Traitor.

As per the credible responses, the new conception of an effort in the 4K resolution format for such a dark mood action compelling film is a remarkable approach. This is also an aid for the mutual gains from the production, distribution, and the new audience side.

Furthermore, the movie’s space demands such a format to enhance the viewer’s respect for its brilliance in frames and specific sequences that can be a reason for a theatrical watch.

On the contrary, there is no scope for a must-watch factor for the kind of audience who expect some lead or anything special. The movie is as it is and hoping to be a better theatrical entertainer.

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has done the titular character along with an ensemble cast of actors Lal, Prakash Raj, Mamtha Mohandas, Vinayakan, Assim Jammal, Sai Kumar, Nithya Menen, Sreejith Ravi, Vinay Fort, Shane Nigam, and Salim Kumar in pivotal roles.

The technical labour included the handling of cinematography by Satheesh Kurup, editing overseen by Vivek Harshan, and Gopi Sundar composed the music as well as the background scores respectively.
