The much-awaited Malayalam movie named ‘Pani: An Eye for An Eye’ has been released on big screens and a high audience intake is seen due to great hype and expectations. What will its prognosis be at the box office? Will it be able to become a breakthrough for Mollywood?
‘Pani’ (Eng. Job) is an upcoming 2024 Malayalam language Romantic action thriller film written and directed by actor Joju George. The film was jointly produced by M Riaz Adam and Sijo Vadakkan under the banners of Appu Pathu Pappu and AD Studios. This is the directorial debut by the actor.
Actors Abhinaya, Sagar Surya, Junaiz VP, Abhaya Hiranmayi, Seema, Chandini Sreedharan, Prashanth Alexander, Sujith Shankar, and Rinosh George will play important roles. Also, this movie is intended to feature over forty new faces.
The cinematography includes the cinematography by Venu ISC and Jinto George, editing overseen by Manu Antony, music composed by Vishnu Vijay, and background scores by Sam C S respectively.
Regarding the responses, the expectations in the narrative and screenplay couldn’t give much satisfaction to the viewers. The storytelling is flat and thin with a loose and weak screenplay, having an underwhelming first half and predictable transparency.
Although the second half of the effort seems decent, the over-consumption of time in introducing the characters, outdated concept design, and lack of emotional connection are other limitations.
Technical labour was not much impactful to the level except the stunt sequences and performances were not noteworthy. Also, Joju George as an actor is brilliant but not satisfactory as a director.
On the contrary, the debut directorial effort of the actor is promising, and hoping to see more such plot-driven films that are expected to have a better story idea, script as well as better performances.
Overall, the movie can be a one-time watchable and is not expected to make waves at the box office. Stay tuned in Binged for more updates.
