It is not uncommon in a country like India that those who bring laurels to the country are overlooked. Not only has this been witnessed in the various circles of life like sports, education, and more, the same can be extended to hold true for the film industry as well.
Case in point: Payal Kapadia’s ‘All We Imagine As Light’, the Malayalam-language film that scripted history for India by becoming the country’s first win in the celebrated Grand Prix category at the Cannes Film Festival in over half a century! In the aftermath, the heartfelt story went on to cause ripples across the world.
After having debuted in India at the MAMI Film Festival, the film is all set to release theatrically on November 22. With only a day left for the release, it is quite disappointing to see the lack of mainstream conversation about the widely loved and appreciated drama film.
The film is being distributed by Spirit Media, a production company owned by superstar Rana Daggubati. While there was initial promotion, it seems to have died down lately. Moreover, with the film only being available for a limited number of shows throughout the country, poses another obstacle.
Despite all of this, the film has a wide array of viewers anticipating its release. Hopefully, with more and more people talking about it, the movie will ultimately be able to achieve its potential.
