After the big releases in the time of Diwali, the Indian film industries are looking forward to further big releases like Kanguva, Pushpa 2 and Chhava lying ahead. Before these releases though, a period of two weeks will be left for smaller releases before 14th November.
One film that will be releasing in this interregnum is I Am Kathalan. The film is about a teenager in the early 2000s. He is a genius regarding computers and is an underground hacker. He hacks the whole branch of a bank sending the employees into confusion as to what is happening. The film is set in a time when computers and networking were some rare things to see. In such a time, hacking a system took a lot of effort and people were unaware of such attacks. This context creates an exciting plot out of the film.
The film is majorly about the hacking of the branch in a time when such things were not a daily find. Then the reception of the bank towards the security breach. And then the attempt to find out who committed this and his identity. As the protagonist switches his location with Japan while hacking the investigators go cahoots as to how to catch a man sitting abroad. Such plot points make the film interesting to watch.
The film has a cast consisting of Naslen K. Gafoor, Lijomol Jose, Dileesh Pothan, Anshima Anilkumar, Vineeth Vasudeva, Sajin Cherukayil, Vineeth Viswam and Arjun K. The film has been directed by Girish A. D. and written by Sajin Cherukayil. The performances, the writing, dialogues, plot points and historical context seems quite good looking at the film’s trailer.
The audience can expect a good film that can be enjoyed as a light watch in theatres. The film is not that dark, hence, almost everyone can watch it without displeasure. The film can expect a decent response from the audience.
