The thriller genre in Malayalam filmography is rampant this year, some being the best and some not. With the month coming to an end, an official trailer of a new thriller flick has been announced by its crew on the YouTube channel.
‘Pathimoonam Rathri’ (Eng. The 13th Day) is expected to be a psychological thriller directed by debutant Maneesh Babu and produced by Mary Maisha for D2K films. The screenplay for the movie is penned by Dinesh Neelakandan who is again a newcomer.
The technical labour is a new pool of talents which includes handling of cinematography by R.S Anandakumar, editing done by Vijay Velukutty, and music composed by Raju George respectively. Also, the production design is overseen by Santhosh Raman, who has won a national award for his work in the Malayalam movie ‘Take Off’ (2017).
The scope of the flick demands a well-gripped screenplay, a distinctive approach to the narrative, brilliant production design, and the performances of the actors. However, the expectation of music composition and other technical labour does not improve when shown in the trailer.
The movie comprises an ensemble cast featuring actors Shine Tom Chacko, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Vijay Babu, Deepak Parambol, Malavika Menon, Archana Kavi, Meenakshi Raveendran, Sohan Seenulal, Dain Davis, Kottayam Ramesh, Sona Nair, Sminu Sijo, Hari Prashanth, Assim Jamal, Rajith Kumar, Anil Perumbalam, Arya Babu, Sajan Palluruthy, Disney James, and Ajeesh Janardhanan respectively.
The flick is expected to release in October and stay tuned in Binged for knowing the dates, satellite, and OTT rights of the movie ‘Pathimoonam Padi’.
