Not Mohanlal, Not Fahadh; This Actor’s Movie Is In IMDb’s Top 10!

A movie should be able to convince the audience to bring a new perspective regardless of mere satisfaction. The Malayalam film industry has made enumerated representations of its kind right from its inception.

The Internet Movie Database or simply ‘IMDb’ is one such rating mechanism that allows the audience to give ranks based on their likeability towards the movies. The list of best Malayalam films is happily surprising.

A movie named ‘#Home’ (2021) has secured the 8th position in the Top 50 Malayalam films of all time which surpassed the great classic ‘Manichithrathazhu’(1993), which earlier held the position.

‘#Home’ is an Indian Malayalam-language drama film directed and written by Rojin Thomas, where actor Vijay Babu bankrolled the movie for Friday Film House Productions. This film received widespread critical attention.

The story, background score, cinematography, social relevance, characterization, and performances of the lead cast especially that of actors Indrans and Manju Pillai were critically acclaimed. In 2023, the film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam.

‘#Home’ tells the story from the view of Oliver Twist, who is a technologically challenged person, and has a meek and innocent character, contrary to what his wife and children have. The narrative ensures to give its viewers a feel-good naturality with entrenching human relationships and the value of family bondage.

Actor Indrans has profoundly made the character word by word into life with his eyes and total outlook with the complexity in emotions yet feeling simplified on screen. The movie is conceived in such a way that it can engage all kinds of viewers-young or adult.

Other cast features actors Sreenath Bhasi, Naslen Gafoor, Thankaraj, Anoop Menon, Johny Antony, Vijay Babu, Srikanth Murali, and Deepa Thomas in important roles. Actor K.P.A.C Lalitha’s presence in the movie is the cherry on a cupcake.

The technical labour of the movie includes the handling of cinematography by Neil D’Cunha, editing done by Prejish Prakash, and music composed by Rahul Subramanian respectively.

The OTT rights of the movie are acquired by the Amazon Prime Video platform and stay tuned in Binged for more updates
