Two Movies Focused On Kids Audience, Clash As Global Releases!

Mammoth projects in the Indian film industry are no more of a dream now. A plethora of such efforts has been conceived brilliantly and able to convince the world audience with a comparatively low budget with Hollywood.

Filmmakers and technicians all over the world are praising the sky’s limit about the blend of efficient content-driven narrative with mass commercial appeal as well as including high budget in profound technical and visual improvisation. Where has the industry reached with these efforts?

The upcoming clash in the big screen releases like ‘Barroz’ and ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is expected to be exciting for their similarity in focusing on the children’s audience. How competitive will ‘Mufasa’ be for an Indian movie like ‘Barroz’?

The magic of visual representations is nothing but creativity and sheer brilliance. Curious minds can be able to mount a different ambit of fantasy and large-scale entertainment to their piece of work. To achieve this, a strong decision to break the limits a director should have a kids’ envisage.

‘Barroz- The One Who Guards the Treasure’ is the first directorial venture of Actor Mohanlal who himself is hoped to appear as its titular character. The movie will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas. Based on the novel ‘Barroz: Guardian of Da Gama’s Treasure’ by Jijo Punnose, the cinematography is handled by Santosh Sivan and editing will be done by B. Ajithkumar. Also, the movie will be joined by T.K Rajeev Kumar as its script advisor and Kalavoor Ravikumar as its additional dialogue writer. Also, Jijo Punnoose is known as the first filmmaker to direct the first 3D film in India.

As per the premise, Barroz, a treasure guardian has been protecting Vasco da Gama’s hidden treasure for 400 years and has been entrusted to hand over the wealth only to a true descendant of da Gama. The crux of the movie shows it to be a children’s film with a heavy canvas along with a decent storytelling style.

Awestruck production design by Santhosh Raman and exemplary cinematography by Santosh Sivan are highly expected factors and would have a lot to do with the movie. The music by the prodigy Lydian Nadaswaram is another big hope for enshrining the effort.

Renowned Hollywood composer Mark Kilian is another expectation in producing a blend of intriguing as well as soothing background scores. On an important note, the high-octane expectation of the Actor becoming Director Mohanlal is a prevalent factor for its theatrical release.

‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is an American musical drama film directed by Barry Jenkins from a screenplay by Jeff Nathanson. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pastel Productions, the film is photo-realistically animated, and both a prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 film ‘The Lion King’.

As per credible reports, ‘The Lion King’ had a successful Indian box office with great positive response and critical acclaim. Also, the prequel is a much-awaited one by its kids’ audience and fans.

However, the wider the canvas, the bigger its challenges will be. Apart from every possible aspect, the comparison of ‘Barroz’ with such an anticipated world release, where both are to be projected as 3D Films and its focus is on pan-world reachability.

Furthermore, In the case of Barroz, a betterment in total gross may be found less likely due to its success ratio as the actor’s large-mass-loving audience may not be satisfied with the film, albeit attaining some returns from its satellite rights. Adding on that, the cast involved in the movie is not popular among Malayalam film viewers.

On the contrary, a Malayalam movie competing with a prequel having a great legacy will be a revolution for the world cinematic experience and hope to attain pan-world responses.

Both efforts will be coming on big screens as the Christmas Releases with expected dates of the 19th and 20th of December respectively.
