This thriller Secret, opening on 24 November 2024 has an interesting idea, but will it succeed on OTT after a possibly disastrous run at the box office? Many movies have trouble being discovered online before they have an immediate impact in cinema halls. It risks becoming lost in obscurity if word-of-mouth doesn’t begin strongly.
The OTT platform offers a new platform, but the competition here is cut-throat too. The film has to be something that would arouse a lot of curiosity at the outset if it is going to linger on. Can it make it through the noise?
While it may boast a novel concept, Secret needs more than just an interesting concept. It needs to emotionally be charged in such a way that the audience will remember it; otherwise, it might easily get lost in people’s minds. Does it fulfill its promise?
