Ajith Mampally’s film Kondal, released back on 13th September, is about to be released on OTT platform after a month of its release. The film received mediocre reviews from audiences, whose response to the film was evident in its box office collections. The film could manage about 3 crores in almost 2 weeks after its release. Now it will hope for a decent viewership from OTT platforms.
The film will be available to watch by tomorrow, 13th October, Sunday. Netflix has bought the OTT streaming rights for the film where one will be able to watch it.
The film is a nautical action-drama revolving around a man named Manuel (Immanuel) who leaves his hometown after facing troubles. He takes up a job on St. Anthony’s boat located at Munambam Harbor. What follows are certain events that change the life and course of Manuel and other people working there.
The film is a decent watch with good action scenes, good showcasing of nautical life, clever use of revenge as a plot etc. the film stars Antony Verghese as Manuel, who is known for doing his stunts himself. Raj B. Shetty, Shabeer Kallarakkal and Gauthami Nair also star in the film.
The film has been criticised by many for its sup-par plot that makes it uninteresting. The plot is less intense looking at the gravity of the revenge story. It is very much unexplanatory in many places. Finally the biggest plot hole lies in both the prominent actors not being able to kill each-other after multiple attempts, which is in the end blamed upon destiny.
The film can serve as a decent Sunday watch as it will be releasing on OTT tomorrow and hopefully, this time it gets some decent viewership that is able to wash off the bad numbers it received in the box office.
