Ormax Media, a leading research and analytics firm, has conducted a comprehensive survey to find out which Indian shows have the highest franchise equity – that is, excitement to watch another season of the show. The survey threw up interesting results – fourteen shows have a strong franchise equity score of 50% and more. Which means that the Indian public is super excited to watch another season of these shows.
Digital entertainment has witnessed a new high in India. Major streaming platforms have had a glut of new shows in recent times. But the true measure of a show’s success and the love it receives can be gauged by how excitedly viewers are waiting to watch another season of the show; and how high is the anticipation among viewers, regarding a new season of a particular show. That is where this survey and its results come in.
According to the survey, the leader of the pack is, unsurprisingly, the hit Amazon Prime Video show ‘The Family Man’. It has received the highest score of all Indian shows – 84%! The Family Man Season 2 is easily the most highly anticipated second season of all Indian shows – something that can also be seen in the raucous demands on social media for The Family Man Season 2.
The other most anticipated Mirzapur Season 2 is a tad below The Family Man, scoring 83% on the Franchise Equity scale.
Besides these two, 12 other shows have a Franchise Equity Score above 50%. Here’s the full list of those shows that have a score upwards of 50 –
1. The Family Man – 84
2. Mirzapur – 83
3. Sacred Games – 80
4. Paatal Lok – 71
5. Special Ops – 70
6. Breathe – 68

10. Hostages – 62
11. Panchayat – 59

Interestingly, there’s news doing the rounds that there will not be any follow up season for Made In Heaven, as the makers have dropped their plans to take the franchise forward.
For all the other shows, we are keenly awaiting new seasons of most of these shows as much as the next person is.
