One of the buzziest Netflix series in 2022 was undoubtedly 1899. There were not many reasons for the show to be in such a high craze other than one factor.
That it is from the makers of Dark and they are even more excited about it. Now the words find their edge when we talk about something as extraordinary as Dark. Apart from being one of the most successful shows ever, it is also the finest and most impactful series to ever debut on TV.
Regardless, with such a big advantage at hand, 1899 was presumed to be a monstrous hit. But it was not. Although it garnered appreciable views it was nowhere near what was expected from it.
The poor screenplay and lack of tempting factors are said to be the culprit for the same.
Now, Netflix has taken a hard decision and thrown the series out of the renewal room. The series is now canceled and there won’t be an 1899 Season 2 even though the makers gave a hint in the last few minutes of the last episode.
The VFX, the promotions, and everything cost a tonne and the return was not as high. So, it’s time to get over the hopes of 1899 Season 2 if there were any.
