2022, A Year Of K-Dramas; Reveals Netflix While Ordering Doona

The popularity of Korean dramas is unprecedented on Netflix. Multiple series like All Of Us Are Dead and Money Heist Korea: Join Economic Area earned good popularity throughout the globe.

But there is astounding data that says even a great deal about the growing popularity of series from Korea. Before Squid Game, it was limited to a specific fandom but after the global sensation, it has penetrated the masses.

Netflix revealed the show along with figures revealing that more than 60% of global Netflix subscribers have watched K-Dramas in 2022. Consequently, Korean content made it into the Weekly Top 10 chart in more than 90 countries over the past year.

Netflix revealed all these data while announcing their upcoming title called Doona. it stars Suzy and Yang Se-jong. Doona is a coming-of-age story revolving around the budding love between a K-pop star and an ordinary college student.

It won’t be just another series as it would be directed by Crash Landing On You director Lee Jung-Hyo. Regular fans of Korean dramas are well aware that Crash Landing On You is one of the most popular series to come from Korea.

Although Netflix is extremely optimistic about their Korean slate, let’s see how well they do next year too.
