21: Grey’s Anatomy Renewed For Another Season!

Giving the longest streaming TV series a run for their money, the widely popular American drama series ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ has officially been renewed for another new season: 21!

Available on Disney+ Hotstar, the medical drama follows the personal and professional lives of the doctors and interns working at Seattle’s renowned Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Unlike what fans anticipated earlier, the show will not be celebrating its 20th anniversary by concluding. Rather, they’ll be opening with the 21st season in 2025.

With episodes from its 20th season still releasing every week, it is already the longest-running primetime medical drama.

While it is believed that most of the cast members’ contracts will terminate this current season, the show will be left up to the roster of Seattle Grace Hospital interns, residents, and attendees in the upcoming season. First premiering in 2005, only two of the original cast members continue on Grey’s Anatomy: Chandra Wilson as Bailey and James Pickens Junior as Richard.

ABC, the production company behind the show, didn’t confirm how many episodes the new season would be, but Grey’s Anatomy’s episode numbers have greatly varied in length over the last two decades. While some viewers reacted negatively to this news stating that ‘no show needs this many seasons’, devoted fans have been overjoyed!

Will the new season garner fans’ attention? Stay tuned to find out!
